We’ve entered a time where emotional dysregulation is almost a badge of honor. You’re not alone if you find yourself spiraling after a random text or losing your cool over a missed deadline—you’re just part of the trend. Anxiety isn’t some rare, exotic condition anymore, it’s mainstream.

According to the 2012-2013 National Epidemiologic Survey, about 12.7% of the U.S. population is affected by anxiety disorders each year. If we look at older data from the 2004 National Comorbidity Study, that number climbs to a staggering 21% within 12 months and 34% over a lifetime. So, guess what? Emotional chaos is normal. The question isn’t whether you’re anxious but how well you’re pretending you're not.

Below are seven of the most common questions about anxiety and some of my favorite resources (get seven free articles to download!!).

I don’t want to leave you hanging if you are not a premium member (yet!). Check out these articles from the archives.
