As an actor in this multi-act play, I found your post delightfully uplifting. There is more to citations than just recognition. Many hours go into each paper and some do not enjoy the success as others but they remain our primary intellectual legacy. Tough task to highlight a few papers but I think you nailed it. I look forward to many more papers and citations in the years to come.
So awesome to have that metric to see. CONGRATULATIONS! Both on the accomplishment and you embracing celebrating it!
Wouldn't be fun if we could collect data on the influence your work has on a B2C level. Sorry old habits. The citations are like B2B influence. Could you imagine the number of humans running around using the constructs and insights you have contributed? That would be a cool visualization.
I would love that. I keep getting emails from people who translate our work into foreign languages but often they don't send me their discoveries. I do love seeing how robust this 5 dimensional model of curiosity is and loved hearing Suzy Green build on our purpose work.
Bravo! There is something cosmically delightful about your hitting this milestone shortly after hitting 50 yourself.
What I enjoy most about your work is that it’s never done — you keep kicking at the established walls and sacred cows. Believing, I think, as Tolkien put it, “still round the corner there may wait a new road, or a secret gate.”
Congratulations! This post is like a gift to our Friday conversation. Looking forward to it!
I’m sure this is just one metric representing the impact you’ve had on your world at large Todd. Congrats. Keep on pushing, cuz it continues to pull us all in.
This is such an amazing milestone and part of me feels like my comment should stay to that but...my curiosity....may....kill....me....
So I wonder: can one's purpose change?
And yes, I'm aware and amused by the combination of showing at least some small signs of social pressure/anxiety in the pressure to conform, anxious curiosity, and a question about purpose. Todd has created such a community where it is safe to be your true self, which is why the celebration of this milestone is not a hollow one (like too many internet "congratulations" have become), but a truly joyous one.
Awww thanks Erica. I try. The only 3 places I’ve been successful are here my amazing Facebook friends and on LinkedIn. Forget X. Freaking cesspool. And not enough conversation on Instagram or threads.
Yes purpose can change. Right now I’m writing grants to study this in more depth but there’s some cool work out there and we have some unpublished data that needs to be written up. Btw I don’t know if you’re still hungry to write up papers but I’m swimming in data for someone with writing and stat skills who wants to lead. No reason for me to lead anymore.

So true. You are 2.3 lobes in my scientist brain. And so true about elevating the other thinkers who influenced us.

Mother nature loves you, and this mother does, too!
The 50,000 flowers in my garden are celebrating and dedicating their beauty to honor hardworking, brilliant, motivating us all...YOU, Todd.
that's a big mother nature party, thanks Judy!
